Well, does someone oppose?

It's not a necessity, but having  Chief Judicial Officer could boost activity in the Midwest!

I pushed for something similar back when Maxwell had some ideas to reform the Constitution. I would really like to have a Chief Judicial offices, but do we have anyone willing to take the position? If so, this has my full support. If not, I would prefer to wait until someone's available.

And, as a minor detail, is there a chance we could change the name to something exotic? Grand Inquisitor is a name I would really like to see used in an office.

Verin would be good in the role, in kind of a John Dibble sort of way.

Does this mean we have to vote on the nominee?

Mr. Senator, Mr. Archduke, would you mind contacting your potential nominees to check if they would be interested in holding the position just to be sure we have candidates?

I'm thinking about it. So I'm searching potential candidates. Would you be interested?

If you decided to create such a post, sure, but I don't think it's necessary.  The Midwest has never had a court case in its history.

As I mentioned, I don't think this position is at all necessary.  The Midwest has never had a judiciary, nor even a court case.  That said, if you created it, I wouldn't object to being put in the position.

We always could have a case though? I think it will a good move. However, does that language mean that the Althing votes on the nomination?

Well, yes.  But that has been true for the past 9.5 years.  And for the past 9.5 years, we've never had a court case.  I'd be much happier with formally establishing that the Supreme Court is our judiciary, as it's been since the inception of our region.

How about this? It is more specific about the Althing vote...

Nervous? Why? I think it's better that way for we are forced to achieve consensus. Otherwise you get a 2-1 vote, which (I believe) is not always fair.

True, but if we get a, how do I put this, not so great, obstructionist, NMAMesque person. It could make things difficult.

Just a little nitpick, but on Clause 1, there needs to be a period after the 1. I also think clause four could be simplified.
