Recently ate there for the first time.  Very good, but I prefer Five Guys.

Kind of overrated.  Shake Shack is better.

Never been there, but I have a hard time believing that anything is better than Shake Shack.

Though the animal style fries or whatever they're called do look intriguing.

As far as I know, they don't have any plans to expand east of Dallas right now.

Sad  I know I read they were opening one in Memphis.

Why would they not want to open up all over the $outh?

Given the fact they have Bible references on their bags and cups, I'm surprised they didn't start out there.

Suburban Southern California in the late 1940's. Close enough, no?

You should get them "well done". Using the secret menu to your advantage is key.

Who the hell is voting horrible restaurant?

I am.  I've eaten at two of them and I didn't care for either of them.  Funny too, because everyone raves about them.  I wouldn't say it's as horrible as a kick in the head, but it's not somewhere I'd go back to.  Lots of better fastfood/burger joints out there.

So if you were back in the bay area, where would you go?

If I were back in the bay area I'd be eating burritos mojados, and lots of Thai food as well.  If I really, really wanted a fast burger and fries, I'd get a nice greasy one from TrueBurger.  They have several locations.  Plum Bar in Oakland also makes a really good burger and serves up a decent selection of ales as well, although that's not so much a fast food place.  I'd probably go to Plum if I wanted a burger and fries and was taking a one-hour or longer lunch break.

In Lancaster, PA I like the burgers at Iron Hill Brewery.  They're not quite as good as Plum Bar burgers, but they're the best I've had here.

Carl's Junior also makes a pretty good burger.

Hamburgers are a rare treat.  I probably eat one once a month or less.  It's not something we do as a family.  My wife and I both enjoy cooking so we rarely eat out.  When we do it's almost never at a Burger place.  When I do find myself having a meal with colleagues or friends, I almost always order a burger.  Last night was an exception:  I went had dinner with a colleague after a late meeting had fish and chips at Annie Bailey's downtown.  Not bad, but a bit overpriced ($35 for two vodka martinis and the meal).  Next time I'll suggest Iron Hill.

In Texas, and in some locations in northern Mexico and Louisiana, there is a chain called Whataburger.  I really like their double/double all the way with jalapeños and mayonnaise.  When I'm traveling through that part of the world I always make it a point to eat a Whataburger.

Did you ever try Nation's? It's greasy but not bad. Never tried Trueburger. And yeah, I'd go for the Asian and Mexican food if I was in the Bay Area. No Burmese restaurants here. Sad
