$100k fine is less than one week's pay for  him.  The draft pick issue isn't dead yet, sadly.

I think the did it on purpose.  I don't have a high personal opinion of him.

Purposeful and I applaud him for thinking outside the box.

I'm just pissed the Jets got a penalty because was standing in the white and didn't affect the play and the refs call nothing here. NFL is a joke.

He did it on purpose.  His apology is crap.  If the Steelers had won the game, there probably would have been no apology.  They should at least take a second round pick.  This action is inexcusable.  It is imperative for a coach to know where he is on the field every second of the 60 minutes of the game.

Definitely not purposeful and not worth a 6 figure fine.

I doubt it was intentional. Coach Tomlin has always been a class act and a no nonsense competitor.

But the big story, which is being overlooked as always, is why didn't the ref, who was standing right there when this happened, didn't throw a flag? Huh

The League said he should have and I'm sure he'll pay for it, ala no postseason work.

One hundred percent intentional. The video KDKA showed, and now ESPN is showing, shows Tomlin taking a sidestep to the field once the returner gets the corner, then Tomlin turns his head for a full second or two, then jumps out of the way once the returner is up on him.

Moreover, if the Steelers lose to the Dolphins this weekend, and I don't think they will (Tannehill is in for a rough day, methinks), but if they do, the "fire Tomlin" stuff will get going full gear. I always thought they were unfair to Cowher (he had them in the AFC Title every other year for like fifteen years), and Tomlin's about to find out how brutal the local press and fan base can be if it doesn't turn around. I think he's a good coach, I don't think the Steelers have a lot of talent, and they always get the absolute most out of the mostly mediocre talent that they do have.

Yeah there's no way.  They'll lose a compensatory pick.

You should hear the calls for his head here, Xahar.

I voted intentional, though I don't believe it was premeditated in the sense that he knew he was going to do it going in, or even thought about doing it at any moment before actually doing it.

ie, a second degree murder charge, plea-able down to aggravated manslaughter.

That may be an overreaction, but I would take away a regular pick, maybe a sixth or seventh rounder or whatever their last regular pick is.

I'm stuck in the middle. I think he got into the moment too much and it cost him, it's easy to happen.

I had a personal foul thrown on me due to the refs sucking up a major call during the last high school season. It's easy to get caught up and do something you regret.

But at the same time I also think he was desperate and meant to do that, who knows?

They are paying for it though.

They should suspend Tomlin rather than taking a pick away...

Really? I actually like him, despite my dislike for his team.

He's a great coach. His pressers are nasty, curt, and dismissive.  Since that's the only time the fans here from him, the f[inks] you attitude isn't well received.  Cowher could be a dick but he had a personality as well.  Tomlin is a nasty robot.

Well given how the coach of my team gives his pressers, I don't think I need to say that I don't mind that style Wink

I'm pretty sure it was on purpose.  I think the 100k fine is appropriate.  Losing draft picks would be stupid.  Suspending Tomlin a game or two would make more sense (but I wouldn't even go that far).  I'm a Steelers fan and I like Tomlin.  He's not why the Steelers are having a less than great year.  If we fire him like some fans want, who are we going to get to replace him?  It's not going to happen, that's not how the Rooney's do things.
