President Roosevelt lives on with no health problems. In spring 1948 he announces that he will seek a final fifth term. How turns the election out? Who is running on the republican side? Remains Truman as Vice President on the ticket?

It would be very close, but FDR might be able to pull it off depending on how he would have handled the immediate post-war situation. The map would probably look the same as in RL, but FDR might have won New York and Pennsylvania against Thomas Dewey. Another question is if FDR would have more success at securing the passage of early civil rights legislation after his re-election.

Why would Dewey win Idaho against Roosevelt, when in OTL he lost it to Truman?
