I read that too. I so wish I'd known he was in north Texas; if it were in DFW I probably would have gone for the LoLs

I'd be pretty offended if our media really did know that Rep Stockman was on an international trip and instead ran their "where is Stockman" pieces.

Stockman reportedly walked out during the middle of the SOTU speech last night upset over President Obama's violation "of the Constitutional separation of powers." To make matters worse, his guest was Chad Henderson, a student who gained criticism for lying about his enrollment in Obamacare. Stockman primarily invited him to make a point that he was "practically a Democrat member of Congress."

Stay classy, Steve.

As for the Democratic primary, David Alameel, the wealthy dentist, received a huge endorsement recently from State Senator Wendy Davis. She says it's because of his stances on things like education and healthcare, but fellow Democratic challenger, Maxey Scherr attacked Alameel because he's not all that he seems. According to the Austin Chronicle, Alameel once contributed large sums of money to several anti-choice Republican politicians including Governor Rick Perry, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, and even Senator John Cornyn back in 2004.

So this is kind of unfortunate. Obviously Davis is only giving him this endorsement in hopes that Alameel will help her out financially in her own campaign for Governor against Abbott considering he's worth over $50 million. It's a real shame because Wendy Davis seemed to really care about women's rights. Another game of politics over people, so although Alameel will probably make it out of the primary, I can't see why I would support him anymore and not Scherr.

Stockman's twitter has been on fire today because of the debt ceiling vote in the Senate. I love it.

Worth noting, currently Dwayne Stovall has the largest campaign in Texas. He is currently the choice most of the sane TX libertarian Republicans. I havn't really seen any primary polls yet but I think he could get a surprising showing.

In the NE Tarrant Co. Tea Party endorsements, Stovall got 2 votes out of the six voting members. Stockman received the other 4. I expect him to get a strong showing too, which will probably in turn get him attention and help him when he runs for something else down the road.

Here's a second Stovall ad that compares McConnell to a cartoon turtle and features his golden retriever saying "I like turtle soup!" http://youtu.be/4EIMkxNhClQ

The graphics remind me of an early 1990s PBS special or a middle school PowerPoint presentation.

While any Tea Partier has some Akin/Mourdock potential, Stovall doesn't really seem to have enough to put the seat in jeopardy if he somehow pulls it off.  Anyone agree/disagree?

From what I have seen all the places Stovall has been to, the tea party folks go for him over Stockman and Corndog. The only issue really is funding and name recognition. Stovall does have the largest campaign in the state though, so that should count for something.

I remember when he ran to be my State Representative back in 2012. Was one of the few local people I could support.
