Over the years, in every past official election, how did you vote? I think David S is 58 so his list would be lond .

I only voted once, in June 2004 federal election, for Andrew Lewis, the Green Party candidate in my district. And I'm definitely voting Green again in May's BC election and yes on the referendum to change BC's electoral system from first-past-the-post to preferential.

no votes yet, but once I regester, my votes will probably be ALP for my federal seat, ALP for my state seat and CAAPP (a community group) for my local councl ward, if I'm living/reg'd in Victoria. If i'm registered in the ACT, ALP federal, swing at 'state' level, and no idea at ward level.

In state/territory politics i'm basically a swinging voter because they can't really do much about social stuff; i'm basically just anti-incumbent. In my seat, however, the member is John Thwaies who s the Deputy Premier of Victoria (kinda like a Lt. Governor) so i'd vote to re-elect him. Plus he actually seems like a nice bloke, I'm seen him shopping down the street and stuff

The list is way too long and I can't remember every vote.

Let's just say I have voted in every election since 1980.  At the presidential level, I have voted for the Republican candidate each time.

For House of Representatives, I have voted for the Republican candidate each time.

For the Senate, I voted a couple of times for Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat, but otherwise all Republican.

In governor's races, I have voted Republican every time excet 1990, when I voted in NY for a third-party candidate because the Republican (Pierre Rinfret) was a nutcase and I hated Mario Cuomo, the Democratic candidate.

For state senate and state reps, I have usually voted Republican, though I have voted Democratic a couple of times.  My current district for these offices is so heavily Republican that the Republican candidate often runs unopposed.

My ony significant Democratic votes have been at the local level.  In my town, the two-party system essentially consists of two wings of the Republican party, and the Republicans (as opposed to the Democrats) are not always the more conservative of the two.  Given the demographics of my town (largely affluent and over 90% white), there's no constituency for a true Democratic candidate at the local level.  Both candidates campaign on good education and fiscal conservatism, keeping taxes as low as possible.  Support for local issues does not break down on traditional Rep/Dem lines and in this context, I often find myself closer to the Democratic position than the Republican position.  So I have voted Democratic at the local level a number of times, but at the state level and above, my votes have been almost exclusively Republican, and will remain that way.

Thanks to our new improved voting system I had 93 votes to play with for city council and 19 for ward council. About two-thirds of either went to the Greens. Others went to (city and ward:) SPD, PDS, (city only:) ÖkoLinx (Green leftwing splinter group), FAG (anti-airport expansion), f.u.n. (a joke list...they won one of my votes for their proposal to replace the "Technisches Rathaus", an ugly 1970s scar in the heart of the city, with a man-made swamp).

no i wouldnt have voted for edwards.  he is a complete phoney.  i very reluctantly voted for faircloth.  if i had it to do over, id probably vote 3rd party or just abstain.

So far the only elections i've participated in were either mock elections or for SMOB (Student Member of the Board, essentially a high school kid who in Montgomery County is the functional equivalent of Elanor Holmes Norton: a worthless elected representative who can't vote).

For mock schoolwide elections, I voted for Bob Dole in 1996, Harry Browne in 2000, and George W. Bush in 2004. 2 Republicans and a Libertarian. For SMOB, i vote for the girls, the interesting-sounding names (Asians and Jews generally fare best), and the ones who seem more literate in the provided 'here are the SMOB candidates and what they believe in' packet. Yeah, its a wasted vote, but the SMOB isn't worth a serious vote.

In 2000, the school I was at (Benjamin Banneker Middle School) split 66-29 Gore-Bush. 3% went for Nader, 1.5% for Browne, and 0.7% each for the Socialist and Constitution party candidates.
