That's a budget deal?  Washington sure has done a grand job of destroying standards.

We're succumbing to Republican terrorist tactics. Jesus Christ...

Pass a clean CR or get out. If Republicans want to eviscerate the poor by taking away unemployment benefits, let them say so in a separate debate that doesn't involve fraying the fabric of our country.

Why would a clean CR fund a temporary benefit like the extended unemployment benefits?

The clean CR makes Republicans oppose extending unemployment benefits in a separate debate. These grand budget bargains are poor public policy because they allow politicians to evade public scrutiny with regards to budget cuts in the name of not shutting down the government.

Why would the Republicans even schedule a House debate on extending unemployment benefits once a clean CR was passed?

I guess I haven't been keeping up with the news lately, my bad.

How do you even define what a "clean CR" means when dealing with the new sequester levels?  What level of government funding counts as a "clean CR"?  Funding with the current spending levels, or funding with the lower spending levels that will automatically kick in in January?

This deal isn't good enough. Bad move Indiana GOP delegation. The right vote was to stand with Rand Paul.

Rand Paul has navigated this perfectly. Still on the right, but not viewed in the same light as Cruz either.

Lol, so it passed with the same number of votes that President Obama won in the 2012 electoral college.

Weirdly, Stenny Hoyer was one of the no votes:

If this gets through both chambers (and it's looking like it will), then Ryan should become Speaker. He'll have proven himself to be the only person capable of bringing the House Republican Conference into the normal flow of government. That's a big deal.

I disagree. If anything the Speakership is nothing but an empty title at this point and he could probably exert more influence without being such. This isn't the Democratic caucus and the Republicans have a long history of having figurehead Speakers/minority leaders with a lower level person controlling the caucus and the agenda. Tom Delay was never Speaker, but does anyone doubt that he was the one in charge and not Denny Hastert?

Democrats now have four GOP votes to pass the budget agreement in the Senate, with four more on the fence.

I hope that some democrats vote against this budget agreement (Warren,...) because Republicans would be blames (if 4/5 of them vote against the budget deal)

Usually Democrats don't vote to filibuster everything. Gee, those 4 Senate Republicans are so moderate that they decided not to filibuster something that got 80% of the vote in the House. I guess Senate Republicans decided to be the crazy ones this time.
