I have not gotten this costed, the employer would be responsible for the cost not the region.

Well, this applies to government jobs as well, so there would be a cost to the region. Smiley

I would also encourage the chamber to consider amending Section 2 Clause 1 to say "a maximum of $100,000", rather than potentially bankrupt a company, especially when this error could be quickly fixed by the organization.

True, but wouldn't it be the same as if the employee was working the 12 months anyways? I am open to the idea of the fine being changed to a maximum of $100,000

But there would be less productivity, no? There's also the added possibility of having to hire a temporary employee to cover. I suppose there wouldn't be too much of a cost involved.

I echo the Senator's concerns, this sounds a little bit too harsh for me. Besides, a maximum of $100.000, is a reasonable request, given that the threat of going bankrupt for small companies might prove detrimental to the region.
