Knowing you guys, I'm pretty sure you're using ANC as a code word.

Yes, as a code word for the African National Congress.

While under Mandela, the ANC was a FF organization, it's now corrupt and useless.

It's certainly not achieving its potential, and yes, the ANC are incompetent fools.

Well you can blame a violent authoritarian regime which oppressed 80% of the country for decades for that.

That regime has been gone for 20 years. The ANC has been in power ever since.

This is a slight oversimplification, given that under apartheid and particularly in the years that followed it, South Africa usually enjoyed quite handsome rates of growth.

Edit:
More to the point, black literacy rates also increased quite substantially during the apartheid era. No one is denying that apartheid wasn't a nice system, but the ANC cannot be absolved of its failures in government by waving the bloody shirt of apartheid.

Why is the no longer existent National Party responsible for the ANC's corruption and mismanagement which have indeed played a significant role in hindering South Africa from reaching achievable goals within the past few years? If it is, what about the South African United Party?

Here we go, let the Apartheid apologism begin. I was wondering when it would start.

I have stated some facts in response to the assertion that all of South Africa's present problems are the result of apartheid, which is, of course, manifestly wrong.

Good to see that the Mandela mourning was just a contrived act and that the usual white apologism about apartheid and how South Africa/Rhodesia was way better off when the civilized white men were in charge can resume.

Nope- The IFP or COPE would be doing a much better job right now, I'm sure.

Two wrongs don't make a right.  While things certainly could have been worse after the end of apartheid (just look at Zimbabwe for a most relevant example), it would not have been too difficult for the ANC to have done better, even with the same level of corruption.  A kleptocracy does not have to be inept if the thieves keep in mind that one can steal more for a longer period of time by making causing the pot of money they are skimming from to grow.

The echoes of Apartheid continue to cause problems in modern day South Africa. History is kind of hard to break away from- Look at the U.S., where a significant proportion of problems are because of the slavery (and the artificial caste system imposed as justification for such enslavement).

I doubt this would have even happened under Mbeki. Zuma has really run the party into the ground.
