I have no idea who that refers to. I have been called a Serious Person twice today, whereas I though I was one of the last posters to which that label could be applied.

I enjoy the Chinese Communist Party faction name I have given birth too; if I had a precise number, I'd call if the Gang of Seven or however many they may be. A very influential, intelligent, and sometimes infuriating group, but that comes with the territory.

If the Atlas lost its serious people, I would no longer enjoy participating or coming here.

Am I in the serious person clique? On the one hand I think Edward Snowden should be executed on live television for his crimes, but on the other hand I'm not a pro-Torie/Inks sycophant.

Maybe there should be a thread for explaining which of these cliques each poster fits into. I really never know which posters are being referred to when these labels get used. D:

According to some people, it means practically anybody not in those above-mentioned groups.

Yeah can we get a definition here? I've always used "Serious People" to refer to the sort of posters who feign outrage over trivial things, make statements like they're a politician talking to a reporter, "endorse" candidates rather than support them, and typically opine on policy matters with blanket statements supporting their preconceived ideological views without much consideration for any of the facts at hand. Typically some huge overlap with "Moderate Heroes" but also with the truleft and the Teenage Libertarian Circlejerk.

Not sure if that's what you mean.

I've seen "Serious Person" referred to in too many ways. In general I think I've seen it most referred to as people like Hashemite, Al, etc. but I'm probably wrong.

So you don't know who counts as a "Serious Person" for the purposes of this poll, nor whether they form a "clique"?  Then what is the point of the poll?  Huh

Yes, probably. Especially Al is clearly not a serious person at all.

That works. Though it also describes Simfan best of all.
