Yeah can we get a definition here? I've always used "Serious People" to refer to the sort of posters who feign outrage over trivial things, make statements like they're a politician talking to a reporter, "endorse" candidates rather than support them, and typically opine on policy matters with blanket statements supporting their preconceived ideological views without much consideration for any of the facts at hand. Typically some huge overlap with "Moderate Heroes" but also with the truleft and the Teenage Libertarian Circlejerk.

Not sure if that's what you mean.

That works. Though it also describes Simfan best of all.

Another definition might be the people who assume that the average voter thinks like people on Atlas and make absurd predictions based on that, such as that voters will vote very strategically on things like voting for an unpopular extremist candidate on the other side to make the other side look bad or that very small issues are going to become major factors in elections or just about every thing J. J. has ever posted.

A notable recent example is the prediction the FDA moving on trans fats would become a major issue in the 2014 midterms though for a great historical one see the prediction that Obama's mispronunciation of a sports team name would cost him thousands of votes.
