My hair dresser (an elderly woman who's a family friend for a long time) will come in about 1 hour to cut my hair.

I save ca. 5-10€ for each haircut because of this (usually she wants 10€, If I'd go to the shop it's 15-20€).

I'll cut my hair about every 2 months.

What about you ?

Once every two months?! I do mine every 4-5 weeks.

Anyhoo - I have a woman, about 35 - if I can't get a gay Italian guy (the holy trinity of awesome hairdressers) ... I'll give most people a chance. I pay $60, yes, I'll pay that much for a good cut.

40€ for a haircut ?

I'll give her 15€ (which includes 5€ "tip") and I offer her free coffee/tee whatever and cookies or sandwiches ... Wink

"hair dresser"?

I bang the lady that cuts my hair and never pay her for her services.  I don't know how often it gets cut.  We cut it about 2 weeks after it needs it.

I go to a Russian barber shop in DUMBO, Brooklyn every month or so.  It's $17 which is a decent price for NYC.  They also a great job and sometimes they give you vodka while you're waiting.

I get a haircut about twice per year.  I pay seven dollars.  There's a place not far from my house that has seven-dollar haircuts every Tuesday from 8 till noon, so when I do get it cut I make sure to go on a Tuesday morning.  I think their regular price might be something like 12 dollars.

I started getting haircuts regularly about twelve years ago.  Before that I hadn't had a haircut since high school.  In some photos I have hair about 3 feet long, and in others I'm as bald as an eagle.  I'd just let it grow and grow, then at some point I'd get tired of it and cut it with scissors and then when it was short enough, take some shaving cream and a razor and smooth it out.  Did that all through college, grad school, and my post-doc years.  At some point I started looking for proper jobs, so at that point I started going barber shops.  I don't go to the places where they give you a cup of wine and a hand job while they cut your hair, but anyway they know what they're doing.

I think the last one I had was in August, and it's probably getting to be about time for another one.

I can vouch for the grumpy old fart:  he has a full, beautiful head of hair, like Fabio.  And not many more white ones than I have.  Well, maybe a little more.

There's a barber shop a couple blocks away. The group of barbers are all Latino, and know what they are doing. A lot of kids who go there are looking for a fade or razor cut, but I just need a simple trim. I go every couple of months or so and I usually pay $12-15 including tip.

I prefer to cut my own hair, and if for some reason I want to skip the trouble of doing so there is a salon on the north end of town where I can get a trim for twelve dollars, plus my tip of three more.

There's an Italian guy who owns a shop down the road. $15 with tip. I get it cut every 6 weeks or so.

About $40 with tip, which is cheap here. My hairdresser used to be my neighbor for a long time so I don't have to pay the full price. I get a haircut about five times a year.

I wait until my hair and beard are so unappealing that my mother can't stand it anymore and pays for the ensuing haircut.  I have to go to a different place every time because my grandfather always ends up hating the person who cuts his hair and refuses to go back there.

I have it cut about three times a year.  I struggle to think of this as a huge problem.
