Defense Minister Filipe Nyuss, a loyalist of incumbent president Armando Guebuza defeated former Prime Minister Luisa Diogo, who was backed by former president Joaquim Chissano and Nelson Mandela's widow among others.

The general election is in October.

Bad news. Diogo is a major FF and any protege of Mr. Gue-Business is bad news.
