Why do we only have one discussion thread open?
Because we have to officially become a council of three before we do anything else. Plus DemPGH isn't officially speaker yet.

I hereby officially support myself for Speaker. Now, Flo has to agree, I think, for the majority.

And btw, thanks for coming back to the Council, Flo. Stay involved!

I withdraw sponsorship of the Resolution concerning Currency and the Safety in Motorcycling Act. I just realized they are covered by federal law. Tongue

When the referendum is over I'll start by bumping the old threads and then start a new thread for the great reform amendment. Then as far I'm concerned we can proceed with what we want based on priority.

I'd like to request that the first bills in the queue are the Great Reform Amendment, the Repeal of the Pacific for the Children Act, and the job creation bills. (Currently 29-34) I'm fine with everything else going in the current order.

I move to have the Great Reform Amendment and the Pacific Budget 2014 fill the remaining spots on the floor.

I move for the Repeal of the Pacific for the Children Act of 2006 to fill the next spot in the queue. This seems like an unimportant bill, but the IDS repealed a similar law regarding the Pacific under the condition that we would repeal this in 2013.

These were repealed by the Repeal of Everything We Don't Need Act for being passed through unconstitutional methods. I'm reintroducing them because I still think they're good bills.

I am amending Bartelomé Day because apparently we didn't celebrate Columbus Day in the first place. Tongue

And I'm going to tarnish my leftist credentials by saying that I disapprove of changing it from "Columbus" Day! If we're to change the name, we may as well call it "Explorer's Day" or something like that, so I will propose that. Or something like it.

I would be interested in looking at other possible names. Native American Day?

I will not budge on the name. Ever.

I think I proved my point a while back

I withdraw sponsorship of the Fox Resolution. I also motion for the Eliminating Unnecessary Welfare Act to fill the next spot in the queue.

Flo, I understand where you're coming from, but by that philosophy the Catholic Church, for example, should be non existent based upon how they behaved. Also, Vespucci was worse than Columbus, and also, Columbus was under order to loot. That's why the Queen financed him. But I don't want to get into that discussion here - I understand your point of view.

Okay, I'll get the two new bills up soon.

Just FYI: Raising the age of consent would be, I believe, a violation of federal law, since I'm nearly certain the federal gov. sets it at 14.
