It's too bad the article didn't go into more detail about the contrast between Reid's new social progressive views and his status as a devout Mormon, but this was a good profile. Reid comes across as positively Saruman-esque. In a good, but not too good way. I'm just glad he's on the Dems side.

I think I have a soft spot for these sly, mischievous, cutthroat political figures when they act as a force for good. Wink Kinda explains why I'm still a LBJ fan despite all the flaws he had.

This was a great profile. Ralston really is one of the best political reporters and writers in America. And yes, I admit a soft spot for Reid too.
