I really don't understand why there are so many HP votes, considering that Antonio is not only one of the most valuable, but also most civil posters.

I beg to differ.

Vosem, we don't want to know how much of a disgusting, degenerate excuse of a human being you are. We really don't need this knowledge in our lives.

Antonio can of course be very civil when we wants to be. But he has also stated explicitly that he believes some people don't deserve it, which he is ordained by his progressive views to determine.

He seems very bitter, overly serious and frustrated with everything. A decidedly unchill attitude that does not mesh well with my own. ZuWo's quote for instance.. isn't Vosem like 16? Jesus Christ, lighten up brother.

I think he has a similar temperament to my own, and he is not afraid to let it out. I sympathize with him and generally enjoy his presence and especially enjoy his brashness when it is within the realm of basic civility and doesn’t meander into personal attacks. Not a bad guy by any means.

Antonio can of course be very civil when we wants to be. But he has also stated explicitly that he believes some people don't deserve it, which he is ordained by his view that supporting mass-murdering dictators is a horrible thing to determine.

FTFY. Tongue

Anyway no, I can't claim to be among the most civil posters. I know I engage in personal attacks a bit too often, but I think I try and succeed in distinguishing between mere political disagreements and questions of basic principles.

You know, American political discourse as a whole isn't very civil.  We tend to sympathize with people who agree with our views and tend to find people who don't morally repugnant in some way, whether we say so or not.  And we all draw lines in terms of basic principles.  I get pretty acerbic about health care issues, even though I try to stay civil, but sometimes, I can't help myself.  And I know that's true of others, with regard to their own principles.  And I like almost everyone on this forum, even those who don't like me.  So, as long as people are not being malicious for mere sport, they're all good.  Post on, Antonio--you're a valuable member of the forum.

Probably the best poster on this forum, who makes a real effort with his posts (unlike me). I was incredibly lucky and very pleased to get to meet him and have a cool time in Rome and Florence.

Not being afraid to call people out and calling things as they are isn't a bad thing, it's one of the best things about him. People should stop being softcocks.

Walked right into that one.

I didn't want to say 'allies' because that sounded too presumptuous or 'conspecifics' because that sounded almost inhuman.

Like Hash, FF when giving their interesting political analysis, HP when declaring people sub-human for their political views. Also, he needs to stop using "patriarchy" like Tea Partiers use "Marxist".

He has a picture of John Edwards in his signature, so it's a little hard to take him seriously.

Then again, that takes balls.  FF.

Good kid. I don't like most of what he stands for but we have similarities that transcend politics. And it isn't his fault his family betrayed The Beautiful People by going to The Bad Place so I can't really hold that against him.

Epic FF and easily among the top 5 posters on the forum (and really the top 5 are too good to distinguish between in terms of ranking).  Always civil and unless dealing with issues like the Vietnam War and the Old Left/New Left debate in the late '60's, someone with whom I nearly always agree (and I regret that sometimes my passions on the Vietnam war issue have caused me to get a bit edgy when debating that with him, as I often did with many people during my uber-radical days, I regret).  And it's not really a matter of difference of opinion, just of priority.  At any rate, one of the nicest people here and an awesome guy all-around.  Yeah, he's a little bit of a prude, but I don't place high priority on that in the long run.
