Started in the NE and worked my way south and west - all assignments of territory were done in this relatively unbiased fashion, with only one person lucking out in terms of getting their home state and all of it (Congrats, Phil!). This 2% of Atlas Forum is responsible for 43% of the posts.

I was hoping you'd fill in the posters to match the regions in your first map.

It's (now) archaic internet slang, for "1337".  Back in the day there was this thing called leet speak, but no one uses it anymore.

The fact that I get a chunk of Texas is rather amusing. I guess I need to post more to get a more desirable region.

1. You're correct that missing posts are the reason for the post count disparity. To see the biggest source of missing posts, go look at the date of the posts on the last page of the forum community board.

2. brb creating the state of Jefferson

3.

Sorry bro, but I really don't think it's a good fit for me, on many different levels.

I very much appreciate the "Congrats, Phil" meme you've used here - I find it very witty. I am somewhat disappointed, however, that you haven't given Al coal country.

Yeah, I basically sorted by post count and worked my way down through the colonies. TBH, I kind of lol'd when I saw Al's territory and how it had to be formed (I took NYC + Long Island away from NY for BRTD, which left a near-perfect match for Al in terms of square miles between NY & NJ).

As muon mentioned his desire for, I originally had planned (and started) to separate posters by the years/regions on the first map, but felt that there'd be too much empty space in a lot of places to really demonstrate the sheer number of contributions such a small number of people have made. The only person who was "out of turn" in the way the map was done was Lewis; I had him in Iowa at first due to what I mentioned above, but moved him back over after I decided to do a contiguous version.

1.05, roughly. I did simplify it to 1, and allowed some variance in a few cases. I've looked at my scribblings and see some inconsistencies (especially in Texas) with sizes. I'd say there are some that are probably off by up to 20%, but hey, whatever. Tongue

Part of it is the Mod Cave, but that would only account for the unused portion of North Carolina and the northern half of Georgia.

Bumping this because we're talking about forum post counts and the discrepancy between the two figures (total number made versus those visible).

This was in late 2013. Tongue Presumably you either didn't quite have 15,000 posts yet, or I stopped just short of 15,000 before I got distracted (though I'm pretty confident I finished it at the time).

...yeah, I'd probably riot if I ever had to live in BRTD's country.
