This time they will push special-interest legislation that has severe flaws. Then it will be an abortion ban. Then it will be the destruction of the economic safety net. Then it will be the outlawry of labor unions. Then it will be the privatization for a pittance of desirable federal property.

It's up to Republicans to show that America wants such through their votes. Anything else shows them as blackmailers.

Probably not as there is no reason to do it for this.  After all, anything that can get through the House that the Dems could sign on to would have enough Republican Senators to avoid a filibuster in the Senate.

Probably not as there is no reason to do it for this.  After all, anything that can get through the House that the Dems could sign on to would have enough Republican Senators to avoid a filibuster in the Senate.

Yeah, of course. Didn't think this through. And considering the political situation, it's more likely that Republicans will pull the trigger than Democrats (I'm however confident that they won't have the opportunity to use it for long, though, and that Dems will be the long-term beneficiaries).
