Kampala's chances of landing the 2024 Summer Olympics have definitely improved now.  Certainly the Russian member of the  IOC will support their bid if they choose to make one.

To clarify, Uganda does not have a pure parliamentary system so Museveni needs to approve this before it goes into effect.  However it looks likely he will, tho there is speculation that he might veto a law passed at the same time banning miniskirts in an attempt to placate foreign liberals.  It might be enough to placate opebo, but probably not too many others.

The largest religious groups are Catholics, Presbyterians, Muslims, and probably after that Seventh Day Adventists and Anglicans.

Given the extremely literalist interpretation of the Bible that the SDA has, I think it's safe to say that church will never approve of gay sex.  They'd have to give up literalism to do it and if they give up literalism they lose a large part of the reason for being Sabbatarian.
