Schweitzer.

I do not think America will elect a gay President yet, although I'm not sure of that.  The sands have shifted on that issue in record time, so I well may be behind the curve.

Are you implying Whitehouse is gay?

Hmm a New England Democrat who ran to Lincoln Chafee's left in 2006 and is pro-gun control or Brian Schweitzer. Kind of obvious, Whitehouse in a landslide.

I think Ciccilline's the RI gay.

Whitehouse, for sure. Though I wouldn't mind a Whitehouse-Schweitzer ticket to broaden appeal.

The Subject line from the main board is "democrats only: she", which got me thinking it was about Hillary Clinton.

Congressman Ciccilline was the first openly gay mayor of a state capitol.

Senator Whitehouse is married with two children.

Sheldon Whitehouse is exactly the kind of candidate Republicans would love to go against. He'd be so easy to paint as an out of touch elitist from "uber liberal Rhode Island." I personally find him too authoritarian on certain issues and chose not to vote in the 2012 senate race. I would have voted for him if his seat was in danger though. I wasn't able to vote in 2006 but I would have a difficult time choosing between him and Chafee.

I'm a Schweitzer fan though so I say him.

Besides Whitehouse's more leftist views, I support him because his name is freaking Whitehouse. Imagine the news articles: "the Whitehouse administration" or "the Whitehouse White House".

Pretty much this. That would actually be pretty cool to see.

"President Whitehouse" is too good an opportunity to pass up.
