The Senator has 24 hours to begin advocating for this.

As much as I don't like the naming system of the Midwest, I'm not sure I'm against this. There is a certain regional rights element to this, which makes is strange considering the Senator in charge of this, who is notoriously anti-region. Still, I think its a consistent position for me to back this.

Eh, I get the sense homely hates this, and he's the one who'll have to deal with it.

Actually, it would be Fritz. I would appreciate if he would weigh in on this amendment before I make a final decision, as I recognize this would affect him more than anyone.

A small amendment:

I'll support this if the US state name was still included alongside the new one (No one not from the midwest, and probably most people in it, know where Joy, for example, is) and Fritz is fine with it.

This bill resolves disputes related to the naming system in the Midwest. I encourage the Senate to support this bill.

Since my input has been asked for, I will provide it.  I have previously stated:

Just so you know, it is my policy as RG to accept voter registrations that use the regional state names (but I still list them using the common names).

It is not difficult for me as RG to keep a list of the alternate names handy, and I do.  I accept registrations made using the region's state names.  Homelycooking did not, and it was certainly within his prerogative to set that policy (although this law would mandate that my current policy be enforced).

I do have a problem with this law as written, however.  The Midwest region has not "renamed" its states; rather it has established alternative state names, and mandated by law that these names are just as valid as the real world names.  I do not want to see an Atlasia where regions actually re-name their states, throwing out the real world names as invalid.  I don't believe anyone actually wants that, but that is what this law as currently written would permit.

Based off of the RG's statement, I would like to offer the following amendment, and am withdrawing my previous amendment that has not been responded to:

TNF accepted it as friendly. Tongue Come on, Yank!!

Damn it.

So many slots now.

Anyway the quickest way out of this mess is to vote on the amendment. All it needs is one more aye.

Once it is over, do you want a final vote?
