Huh

They're both miserable. Californication's first season was decent but the rest has been trash pretty much. I'm not sure Showtime can be trusted with good television.

Never watch a Showtime series after Season 1.

True. It's upsetting because Masters of Sex has shown great potential.

The executive producers will come in for season 2 and demand more sex, less talking and more generic plot to swoon ratings, as they did with well... Californication, Dexter, and Weeds.

If Dexter is legendary for anything, it's turning completely awful after the halfway point of it's runtime. I'm not going to be the type of person that says "anything is bad after one season" because that's stupid, but Dexter is one of the best examples of a show falling victim to it's success and sacrificing every bit of itself to keep going for one more season and one more season and one more season. I would go so far as to say it had one of the worst endings of any show ever.

That was mostly tongue-in-cheek, FWIW. Tongue

And yes, of course it went downhill after its first few seasons, but hell... most shows end up like that at some point.

Neither one is worth my time. Showtime is pretty weak, I generally stick with HBO and AMC.
