They could certainly use some Schiano Men.

The Titans have fired Head Coach Mike Munchak... Any ideas on replacements?

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000308855/article/bill-obrien-expected-to-clear-out-houston-texans-staff
Also of note New Texans Head Coach Bill O'Brien has fired the remaining coordinators... Could either Texans Coordinator (Wade Phillips, Rick Dennison) get a Head Coaching job somewhere?

I would think [hope] Wade's shots at a head coaching gig have run out.

yeah Wade won't be a (non-interim) HC again, the question is will he be a DC again.  he's been either a DC or HC for the last 33 years

The Franklin hire scares me some.  Giving court testimony in Nashville during fall drills wouldn't be a good thing.

Why in God's name is Bruce Allen running Redskins football?  He's no more clairvoyant at picking coaches than Snyder was.

Gruden's record is not that impeccable, in fact quite the opposite.

Gruden got the job because his name is Gruden.

Bingo.  His offenses were going to get Marvin Lewis fired for not making it out of round 1 of the playoffs.  Lewis is probably doing the happy dance.

Franklin, of course, was the officially designated Head Coach-in-waiting at Maryland, and now somehow he ends up at Penn State. [inks] that.

You make a splash in the SEC and you get to write your ticket.

Yeah, my anger is with the AD for letting him go and then promptly firing Ralph Friedgen anyway.

Meanwhile, while no one wants to coach in Cleveland, Mike Munchak has joined the Steelers as offensive line coach.  Good for us.

That's freaking hilarious.  It's one thing to respect your mentor once you're out on your own, but you can't act like his bitch.

That's a GREAT pickup for us.  Loyalty?  This guy has it in spades.  As long as he's content (and paid properly) he could be our OLC for decades.  Even though it's been a Steelers weakness for years, they played some great line work the second half of the season.  If Pouncey can manage to stay on the field and this coach gives us a bump, it could turn into a strength again....like it should always be.  Everything starts with the offensive line.

I'm sure they are paying reasonably, plus the Titans still owe him upwards of $3 million so I'd gather he's comfy for a while.

I'm ready to use the term injury prone with Pouncey.  Ugh.

Munchak is a coup. Great coach. Would've loved to have seen New England make a play for him now that the legendary Dante Scarnecchia has retired. Munchak should be in line for another Head Coaching gig somewhere down the line.

The Browns situation is obviously a joke as one would expect. Hiring Chud was an absolutely mistake then and now and was quite inexcusable as the team had improved dramatically on both sides of the ball. They clearly had no plan and quality candidates are avoiding that awful situation like the plague. Haslem is an awful owner who may actually end up behind bars in the future due to his business dealings. So... yea... Cleveland is still Cleveland. It's too bad really because they have a lot of good pieces in place to build off of.

As much as I'm not a Browns fan, they have a good fan base and deserve better.

Chud did ok for the sh**t hand he was dealt, but more importantly, his players apparently wanted to play for the guy.  Some of their comments after he was fired show some loyalty there.

They'll end up hiring another shlub and f up the glorious draft position they're in this year and have to blow up the whole ship again in a couple of years.

Sad.

It looks like they're going to give the position to Bills DC Mike Pettine. He was a Rex Ryan guy up until last year when he jumped to the Bills and did a decent job. He wouldn't be such a bad hire if it wasn't a terrible situation.

It's official, Mike Pettine is the new Browns Head Coach.

Mediocre Hire... but they could have done much worse (Jim Tressel, Urban Meyer, Any other college coach in Ohio)
