Black Monday is right around the corner. We've only had Gary Kubiak of HOU fired so far. Who else do you think gets the axe?

Mike Smith and Mike Tomlin aren't being mentioned as being on the hot seat but I figured I'd include them due to their team's poor performance, albeit PIT has improved in recent weeks. Left out Rex Ryan due to reports that he'll be back next year. If you think those reports are bogus, vote "other" and specify. "Other" obviously covers guys not mentioned as well.

I'll post my thoughts in a few.

If you're really feeling bold, post who you think will get the vacant gigs.

Voted Schwartz, Shanahan, Allen, Munchak and Fraizer.

I think Rex stays on. I think Schiano saved himself with a turnaround, although I suppose there's a possibility he leaves for another gig.

I think Jerry sticks with Garrett, despite all the reasons not to. He's invested over twenty years in Garrett being his coach: he was allowed to sit in on coaches meetings as a player and was hired as OC a few years ago before a head coach was even hired. Plus, Jerry loves his "yes" men.

If Schwartz, doesn't get fired it will be an absolute joke but it's the Lions so...

Someone not mentioned is Chudzinski of the Browns. Reports have risen that the ownership is unhappy with him, despite it still being his first year. I think he's done a pretty good job with what he has been given and deserves to stay on. Same with Allen in OAK, although I do think he'll get canned.

The really unfortunately thing about the NFL these days is the lack of patience. In a "win now" league, it's really hard for coaches and players to develop without feeling the pressure.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are looking like the frauds they are. Guess they shot their wads beating NE...

Woody Johnson announces Rex Ryan will be retained in 2014.

As he should be.

So dumb but to be expected from an awful organization, I suppose.

The Browns should hire Kevin Sumlin, draft Johnny Manziel and win multiple super bowls in a row.

They'd still be the Browns.

My predictions that will probably be wrong in two hours:

CLE - Josh McDaniels
DET - Mike Zimmer
HOU - Bill O'Brien
MIN - Ray Horton
TB - Lovie Smith
WAS - Ken Whisenhunt

The two that are complete guesses with no reasoning are MIN and WAS. The rest make sense for one reason or another.

It just makes too much sense, with his history there and with the Glazers.

Hopefully this means Schiano to Penn State.

They could certainly use some Schiano Men.

Munchak is a coup. Great coach. Would've loved to have seen New England make a play for him now that the legendary Dante Scarnecchia has retired. Munchak should be in line for another Head Coaching gig somewhere down the line.

The Browns situation is obviously a joke as one would expect. Hiring Chud was an absolutely mistake then and now and was quite inexcusable as the team had improved dramatically on both sides of the ball. They clearly had no plan and quality candidates are avoiding that awful situation like the plague. Haslem is an awful owner who may actually end up behind bars in the future due to his business dealings. So... yea... Cleveland is still Cleveland. It's too bad really because they have a lot of good pieces in place to build off of.

As much as I'm not a Browns fan, they have a good fan base and deserve better.

Chud did ok for the sh**t hand he was dealt, but more importantly, his players apparently wanted to play for the guy.  Some of their comments after he was fired show some loyalty there.

They'll end up hiring another shlub and f up the glorious draft position they're in this year and have to blow up the whole ship again in a couple of years.

Sad.

It looks like they're going to give the position to Bills DC Mike Pettine. He was a Rex Ryan guy up until last year when he jumped to the Bills and did a decent job. He wouldn't be such a bad hire if it wasn't a terrible situation.
