There's always a surprise or two, but I checked Schwartz, Allen (rhetoric led me to believe there will at least be a major shake-up), Frazier, and Shanny. Rex Ryan is a good possibility. I want to say Smith too, because they had such an implosion and honestly I think they are very over-rated. Coughlin retiring would not shock me, but the NYG will not fire him. Philbin no chance to get fired, especially if they win today, and Tomlin will not get fired.

Shanny made an interesting comment about a week or two ago in a presser I caught part of. He said that he had three personal items in his office: two notebooks and a phone. I figure he's gone first thing in the morning tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are looking like the frauds they are. Guess they shot their wads beating NE...

Yeah, and Tannehill's inconsistency is worse than Eli's.

I agree with Chud.

He's doing fine up there.

Cleveland? They had another epic roll-over today. I don't think it matters who coaches them.

I really doubt the Glazers are going to fire Schiano and start over - especially with all the injuries, and an ineffective quarterback for the first part of the season, and MRSA.

Agreed. If anyone who came up short deserves another shot, it's him. Yeah, he's a drill sergeant, and that might not work as well with the pro players as college players, but he is a good coach who resurrected the worst start imaginable.

Woody Johnson announces Rex Ryan will be retained in 2014.

I think it makes sense. He should get to try to develop Smith but he should get back to more ground-and-pound.

Schwartz is out.

The Browns are to the point where they will have a hard time hiring anyone credible in the professional ranks. I'm sure someone will be willing to take it, but it might be like the Raiders when no one would go in and talk to them (and Al Davis would hire someone, you'd go "Who?" and then Al Davis would talk him up like the Second Coming only to fire him for cause a year and a half later). The Browns might be looking around at some high school coaches if this keeps up. Those statements by players are pretty intense.

Frazier and Shanahan have been axed.

No surprise there. Shanny had a presser where he rambled on and on and acted like he did something besides alienate players, have communication issues, and have QB problems. Good riddance.

Schiano will be working again soon, certainly in the college ranks.
