Well, where you shop is doing it wrong then.

If it was in Australia, maybe.  But around here, the standard sausage is pork

Plant-eating herbivore who will break for fish and seafood, so option 3. Tongue Hey, I'm not 18 or 20 anymore.

I suppose if a choice has to be made, though (once in a great while an unhealthy breakfast is too good to pass up!), it would be sausage.

I have to go with bacon, simply because of its versatility in improving almost any other food.

Its the same in those European countries I have visited/lived in/eaten in and I have only been served pork sausage in Canada. I suspect Australia might be the odd man out on this one.

Bacon for me.

If you mean actual sausages, sausage. As for sausage meat in patty form, it's still better than eating pig but a particularly unappetising method of eating beef. At least make it into a proper rissole.

Most sausages are pork?

Anyway, I'll take the Moderate Hero option and declare them both delicious.

Sausages are beef unless they're pork sausages or lamb sausages or chicken susages, tyvm. But the standard is certainly beef.

No, actually, the standard is pork, or occasionally a pork/beef mix, almost everywhere.  Certainly it is the standard in the US, Latin America, and the vast majority of both Europe and Asia.

"Beef sausage" is marked as such, precisely because it is just as nonstandard as chicken sausage or turkey sausage or anything else.

Dude, how can you live in the Far East and think that??

Your part of the Far East is very strange then.  Anyway, it's pork.  I assumed that when I saw the thread.  Otherwise, what's the point of comparing it to bacon.  The choices would have been sausage or jerky rather than sausage or bacon.

Pay attention, man.

Good lord, that's ridiculous.  Planetwide, the vast majority of sausages are made of pork.  You're probably eating pork sausages and not realizing what's inside.

The correct answer is chorizo, which I technically suppose fits under the sausage category.

Its not that I grew up without:

I prefer them, but its just not the most common sausage in my country or very many other places.

I don't eat any of this for breakfast.

A breakfast involves bread, butter and jelly. But no sausages or bacon. I eat that later in the day.

Incidentally, I have an aunt who under doctor's orders has been told to stop eating bacon. No joke, I learned that she was told that over Christmas. And we're a healthy family, but I guess the vein and artery blockage is getting close to dangerous.

Ha, like all that don't-fry-stuff-in-butter talk and don't-fry-stuff-in-lard talk! Naw, you won't wake up some morning to find yourself dragging one side of your body around the house and unable to talk. Wink

Breakfast sausage is my preference, though in link form rather than patty. I like mine a little spicy, but it's still good if not spicy as well.
