This is like Top 40 country meets awkward Blondie rapping.   Absolute garbage.

But, don't judge country music based on this type of music. There's tons of fantastic country music out there.  Avoiding the good country because of this pop country garbage would be like avoiding the Beatles because you don't like the Jonas Brothers.

I'm not adamantly against country, but this song is kind of bad. I like old country stuff, and even Brad Paisley has some technical talent, but I do not like pop country, and this is most certainly that.

"awkward Blondie rapping" - haha, spot-on.  The "red red red red red red redneck" stuff sounds like bad nu-metal, too.  The lyrics are also insultingly bad.  What a piece of horsehockey.

Toby Keith called Red Solo Cup "the stupidest song that I have ever heard in my life" - he acknowledges that he produced something awful. Blake Shelton seems to actually be trying, which makes this one so much worse.

Top 40 Country is Guitar Pop (like, the kind of charts pop that is actually guitar based, ie the not-quite-as-gross-as-the-rest bit) marketed to Conservatives and Neonazis, basically.

While the rest of contemporary Country is Indie Rock marketed to Adults. Or perhaps rather, Indie Rock is Country marketed to teenagers and other immature people.
