The absolute worst. So bad they could have made you ill, or so bad that they made you laugh, you determine the criteria. Here are my top 3, which I rank in order of how they amaze me on how bad they really are.

3. Meet the Spartans. I got persuaded into seeing this movie in theaters! Don't judge me! But it was the only one of the movies by its horrible directors that I've seen. I am truly terrified to see the others. Thankfully movies that are dependent on cultural references age quickly and become forgotten Smiley

2. Chopping Mall. An cheap 80s horror film about robot guards at a mall, which terrorize some teens who break in. This is one of those "so bad it's good" movies.

1. The Revenge of the Red Baron. This movie... if I dare call it that, (Collection of moving insanity would be a better term) is about... a flying puppet that is reincarnated by the WWI Red Baron, who then terrorizes his now elderly foe, as played by.... MICKEY ROONEY and his grandson... a very young Tobey Maguire. Everything is bad. The acting, story, effects, even the music hurts. Even the opening credits are bad!

Luster. Falls under the "so bad it made me ill and I still sort of gag whenever I even remember it exists" category.

I've seen both Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus and Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and it is really quite difficult to pick a winner.

Starship Troopers was the biggest disappointment I've ever seen on the big screen.  It really had nothing to do with the book except reusing a few character names.

A few that stick out in my mind...

Outland (1981)
In the distant future, a police marshal (Sean Connery) stationed at a remote mining colony on the Jupiter moon of Io uncovers a drug-smuggling conspiracy, and gets no help from the populace when he later finds himself marked for murder.

Getting Away with Murder (1996)
When the very moralistic college ethics instructor (Dan Aykroyd) finds himself living next door to an accused Nazi death camp commander (Jack Lemmon), he takes it upon himself to rid the world of this man. And even though he manages to kill him, he does it so cleanly that no one accuses him and it isn't until he guiltily marries the German's daughter (Lily Tomlin) that he discovers the truth about the man...

Which segways nicely into my question: do episodes of mst3k count?

The problem with the movies shown on MST3K is that most of them are edited to fit the duration of the episode. The editing is usually a couple of minutes and in extreme cases (Like Marooned, or "Space Travelers" as the version the guys got was called) it's more than 15 minutes.

Anyway, I doubt the cuts really matter at all considering the terrible movies that they show there, so I guess they should count. No one says you have to watch 100% of the movie to rate it one of the worst ever, I mean, kind of the point of the worst movie ever is that it's so bad that you either lose your concentration and stop caring about it, or you fast forward the thing (or leave the theater or turn off the TV or whatever) Tongue

A lot of the movies shown in MST3K are on youtube in their original form, I've been watching some of them lately (Today it was Teenagers from Outer Space and yesterday it was The Giant Gila Monster for instance)

I recently saw their version of The Castle of Fu Manchu and it's reputation wasn't really exaggerated, it's truly a terrible movie.

It's hard for me to pick one non MST3K movie as the worst since I usually stop watching those things halfway trough. I also take precautions when going to the cinema, so I can see a movie that I'm positive will not be so bad that I would want it to burn in hell, So I never have to leave the cinema in disgust Grin
Oh yeah, I only left once, like 10 years ago 15 minutes before "The Mexican" ended. That movie was a torturous experience, I felt like I was being waterboarded or something. I also fell asleep during "The Two Towers". Other than that, my record at the cinema is pretty good Smiley

I love the Room so I'm discounting it.

The worst movie I ever seen in theaters was Die Hard 5. Nothing enjoyable about it, checking my cell the whole time, and just disappointing. I'd even rate Batman and Robin ahead of it, because I was 4 when I seen it and i was in a Batman fever then, it was a fun ride. Die Hard 5 was one of the closest times I have come to walking out.

The Crow 4 was pretty bad. Edward Furlong as a bad-a supernatural hero? No thanks..

Gilgli was horrendous

Starship Troopers was the biggest disappointment I've ever seen on the big screen.  It really had nothing to do with the book except reusing a few character names.

Luckily. Verhoeven made clear his opinion of Heinlein's book. I think it's an underrated movie, quite funny if you get the intention. All troopers look like Beverly Hills, 90210/ Melrose Place characters and almost everyone dies.

It's hard to choose the worst movies I've ever seen; too many candidates. Any with Freddy Kruger Tongue  plus some 'action' films and silly comedies whose titles I forgot. I hate Grey's Anatomy, if that helps.

I think someone ought to make a movie about the making of Manos. The eccentric West Texas fertilizer salesman with delusions of cinematic grandeur barking orders at his hapless, half-witted cast and crew - including the community theater actor who wore a centaur costume while tripping on acid - while his passive-aggressive cameramen respond to every on-set disaster and mishap with, "We can fix it in post-production," practically writes itself.

The Room is the best choice for this, because it's a horrible movie totally worth watching.

This is hard to say.  I actually like a lot of movies named ITT because of their camp value.

One that just came to mind is 88 Minutes.  Also, bad comedies like Meet the Fockers.
