Snowguy knows how I'll always see Beth Grant:

"AWWWWWWWW"

Exactly.

Also, this is a weird question.  Has anyone ever wondered if the character of "G.W." was named after George Washington?  "George Washington Nethercott" seems like a plausible name for someone from rural west Texas.

I'd say it's very likely. The original (movie) was being made in 1999, just as W was getting ready to run.

Based on all the gay people I know, Torie is correct in that the rules are different in the gay world. That isn't to say that there aren't monogamous gay couples, just like there are many non-monogamous straight couples, but the norms are markedly different. I base this not only on the gay people I know but from what they told me of the dating scene, etc.

Anecdotal evidence, really Gustaf? Tongue
Maybe the reason is because we monogamous gays don't hang out at Grindr.
My expeirience in the field is that a large majority of open and out gays want a stable monogamous relationship just as much as the next guy.

I don't think that the idea that "a large majority of open and out gays want a stable monogamous relationship" is false... but there's a difference between desires and actions, for both straight and gay men, that probably shifts the scales in practice in one direction for straight men and in another direction for gay men.

There's also, of course, a selection bias.  Perhaps you (and I) are not meeting the non-monogamous gays because we're not hanging out on Grindr Wink

I'll upload a very important selfie relevant to certain folks in this discussion when I have access to a micro-USB Cheesy

So non gayz shouldn't view gay male couples as monogomous?

There are plenty of gays (such as myself) who want committed, monogamous relationships. That's true now more than ever, especially now that the "traditional" route is becoming open to us.

At the same time, there are plenty of gays who don't feel confined to the "traditional relationship." We're individuals, after all, not a homogeneous group.

And, let's not fool ourselves, there is plenty of straight people whose life is one-night stands after one-night stands.

It's just than the acceptance of such bevahiour isn't the same in the gay community than in the "staight community".

A man having sex with a different man every night is seen as normal.
A man having sex with a different woman every night is usually publically disapproved, but quite faintly.
A woman having sex with a different man every night is shamed, insulted, ostracised.

Zelda is the only one of my favorite game series to not be destroyed recently.  It's quite near and dear to my heart.

I guess I've looked at everyone else's pictures enough that I should upload one of my one.

After about 30 tries with my flip phone, this was the closest I could get to something I was happy with.

It all comes back to the two most primal emotions:  Fear and love.

Why do I get the feeling that that woman only recently gained the right to marry?

Never was such an obvious lesbian so obvious.  I know this because my goal is to reincarnate as an upper middle aged lesbian in a committed, long term relationship.

Snowguy, watch "Donny Darko". That's the film this shot is taken from.

Yeah, that's the actress Beth Grant, playing the role of "Kitty Farmer" in Donnie Darko.  She's just playing a role in a movie.  It's not how she dresses in real life.  Tongue

Snowguy knows how I'll always see Beth Grant:

"AWWWWWWWW"

I just realized she played Dwight Schrute's babysitter on The Office.

FTR, the shirt doesn't say what you might think lol. It's a club shirt from school that stands for "People for Empowerment, Education and Potential" which is basically an activist like group for equality and women's rights.

Atop a dessicated ridge, older brother Jeff after a looong climb across country, up hill and down dale, gesticulating at the Torie man about the nuances of the local Death Valley geological phenomena. He was in his element, and at age 67 and quite gaunt looking, can still hike for hours on end, over tough and steep and well, sometimes not too stable, terrain, as if he were the energizer bunny.
