For the record the middle class suburban black population (in this case in western Baltimore county) was what I was thinking of with the Atlanta comparison. Atlanta has a lot of northern transplant whites too. Baltimore even has some uber Republican exurbs like Carroll County. Just not as many as Atlanta.

I voted Southern, but really neither. Mid Atlantic is accurate.

I voted Northeastern-it seems once you cross the border from VA into MD your in a northern state.

Ex. It seems that once you leave NOVA(which seems to have more in common with South Florida imo) and enter Maryland you notice that suburban MD feels culturally more like New Jersey or Connecticut. While Western MD feels more like Pennsylvania to me=the same with the Baltimore area which has alot more in common with Philly then D.C. The Eastern shore and Southern MD feels like New Jersey abruptly collided with Mississippi imo.

As Lewis has brought up, Prince George's County in particular is obviously more like DeKalb County than anywhere else in America.
