On ideology? O'Malley, without a doubt.
On electability? Hillary, without a doubt.

O'Malley doesn't really have an ideology, he's a technocrat, who's been lucky to have a very liberal legislature which has really taken the lead.

I think I'm closer to O'Malley ideologically, but I'd probably support Clinton.  She'd be the stronger candidate by far.

Indifferent I guess. Don't hate Hillary as much as many of the forum Dems do, and O'Malley while liberal is more of an Obama liberal rather than a Warren liberal, so in reality I can't see him being much more liberal than Hillary while governing. Also on electability Hillary obviously wins.

Like a Biden/Hillary primary, I'd probably support Hillary if it was close, but it won't be, so O'Malley it is.

Hillary, I still believe that O'Malley is just a bureaucrat. He would be a nice Secretary of Commerce or Interior, however...

If Hillary doesn't run, would O'Malley be the frontrunner?

If Hillary doesn't run, Biden would be the frontrunner.

If both Hillary and Biden don't run, it's hard to say. Because of Hillary's (and to a lesser extent Biden's in the event Hillary sits it out) dominating presence, most Democrats with the exceptions of O'Malley/Schweitzer have been silent about any potential presidential aspirations. I think Hillary sitting it out could definitely entice Warren into the race, along with many others that nobody is considering at this point.

But I doubt O'Malley could be the frontrunner in any circumstance.

If Hillary doesn't run then I expect others will step in like Warner, Klobuchar, etc. Warner would prob be the frontrunner no way Dems are ever gonna let Biden get anywhere close to the nomination. Warner would crush O'Malley in a primary aswell.

I don't think Warner would get the nomination, to be honest. I think he may not satisfy primary voters. He's also incredibly boring, and I think the Democratic base is itching for a female nominee. I think if Hillary doesn't enter the race, then even with Biden, it'll end up being either Gillibrand or Klobuchar.

Sadly, this sums up just about every potential, viable Democratic nominee in the event Hillary doesn't run (and she's no hoot, either). Hilariously enough, Biden's the only one that has real palpable energy in this department.

Also, I voted Clinton. O'Malley's a cutie and has enough of a Southern accent to make him worth a second look, but he's really just a bland empty suit upon closer inspection.

No. Even in a non-Hillary field (which let's face it is very weak) I still think he's too unremarkable.

Biden would start off with the edge, but his numbers are very poor in the primary despite very good name recognition, I can't see him getting the nomination even sans Hillary.

I think it might end up being one of the women, as the thirst for a female nominee won't go away if Hillary doesn't run. Alternatively, maybe Cuomo as I expect he'd have the most cash in a Hillary-less field.
