I'm surprised Chafee didn't vote against the cuts...

Langevin leads Chafee 41-27 if he runs. Chafee must have given up on winning re-election.

There are no cuts, genius.

This is just a dumb Senate resolution to express the "sense of the Senate that Congress should reject any Social Security plan that requires deep benefit cuts or a massive increase in debt."

So yes, jfern, as usual, is too much of a partisan hack to make an accurate title. How often do you have to make a fool out of yourself? I noticed you're pretty good at it.

In other words, this resolution is about opposition to Bush's Social Security plan, which calls for a massive 'increase' debt, though complaining about that is almost as idiotic as this bill, for the simple reason that the future of the system is itself in far greater debt.

50 Senate Republicans Favor Critical Reforms
All Others Stubbornly Defend Broken System

I can frame an issue, too.
