Aye

Aye... can't believe I'm voting with TNF on a bill.

You'll find we vote on some relatively uncontroversial stuff every now and again, and we tend to push toward moderation to pass things every once in a while, as well. It certainly won't be the last time, in other words.

This bill has enough votes to pass, Senators have 24 hours to change their votes.

I realize the concerns with privacy, but in some ways such can be better protected with this if the system is properly secured. I will never forget when I went to a doctor's office back in 2002 and they had my records mixed up with someone who was born in 1947, had a different healthcare provider and we only found out about when they tried to bill us at the end for stuff that our plan covered.

By a vote of 8-1 with 1 not voting, the bill has passed. The president can now either sign into law, or veto this legislation.

How is a provider supposed to gain permission to an individuals health records? It's better to provide health records to all health care providers but also have a HIPAA type law in order to ensure the privacy of health records. This just adds unneeded layers of bureaucracy which must be worked around with unnecessary paperwork.

It is a good law, but it could have been better. Wish I had seen this a few days ago.

You should have paid us a visit. I am no healthcare expert in the slightest, but the Senate helped me improve my initial proposal. This bill just seemed like common sense if we want to continue into the digital age.

Yeah, I agree with the overall direction of the bill, and it is definitely needed and would be great if we had it in America, but it could have been improved a bit. I am nitpicking really. It's a good bill overall and I wish I took a look a week back.
