Yes, and will again this weekend.

And THAT by the way, is what "pretty damn cold" is. It's funny to hear people from down south or foreigners complain about 0C or not even freezing temperatures as "so cold".

It was -37F here this morning (-38C).  Up to 19F tomorrow.

To put it into perspective.  Between -37F and 19F, there are 56F.  Add 56F again to 19F and you get 75F.

The difference between this morning and tomorrow afternoon, is the equivalent of rising from 19F to 75F (-7C to 24C).  19F is going to feel tropical.  Then back into the deep freeze for the weekend with some of the coldest air since 1996 (that was record cold that year)

I don't believe it ever got that cold, but a few years ago in Mount Pleasant, I remember it was at least -10F (-23C).

Celsius or Fahrenheit?

I guess it doesn't matter much. Either way, I've been in it, I'm sure.

It was in the low -20s today. Was only uncomfortable in the wind. Coldest day of the year, I think. Coldest day in a few years too probably.

Can we use Fahrenheit like normal people?

And no, of course not. I don't really understand what temperatures below freezing mean. They're all below freezing to me. What's the difference between 20° and -20°?

At -20 C you'd still be able to complain about the cold. At -20 F, your lips would freeze shut Wink

20 means that I'm wearing just a hoodie and maybe a windbreaker over it and play Ingress with just my hands, -20, means that I'm wearing a warm winter coat, have those special gloves on that still let you use a touchscreen while playing Ingress, and have on either a hat or my hood up.

Also at 20F my hair doesn't freeze immediately when I step outside right after taking a shower.

Thankfully, no, I have not. Also, I would be one of  those "people from down south or foreigners" that BRTD is complaining about. Hell, I can't stand it when temperatures drop blow 50F/10C. Tongue

20F means you can play pond hockey without a coat on. -20F means you probably shoudn't be playing pond hockey.

Or...

20F means a little bit of sweat after a bike ride to work in a jacket and a sweater

-20F means exhaustion after a bike ride to work due to the cold kicking the sh*t out of you.

So, in other words there's a big difference.

Also, hearing people complain about the cold weather is much worse than actual cold weather.

It's never been below -19 C (-2 F) in the entire state (Tallahassee, 1899).

Haha, no. Heck, I've only experienced sub-freezing temperatures like once or twice in my life.

Coldest I've ever been out in is -35C in Moorhead, MN. Hottest I've ever been out in was 40C in the same city, though I think indoors it was 51C a ways to the southeast near Ottertail because of poor ventilation in the loft of the home once. xD

It had -20 last year here.

The coldest was probably -28 or so.

It's typically not as cold here as it is in Canada or the Northern US.

A BRTD thread where he both forces us to use a foreign scale of measurement and mentions Ingress twice for no reason. Happy New Year, everyone, same old shi*.
