More or less true. I've always considered myself "conservative" for a gay man in regards to sex; at 25, I'm hovering around the 35 mark. I think we need to weight these totals and give BK back his crown.

I am a straight, more or less, yes. I have been physical with a few men (experimented a few times here and there) but found the experiences lacking and I've never made the sex with any of them. All of my fiftyfive (plus or minus two) partners have been women

This sounds really shallow of me to ask, but why do I get the feel that it's easier for homosexuals to hook up with people than it is for straights?  Given the general (albeit evolving) attitude in the United States on homosexuality, I'd expect the complete opposite to be the case.

lesbians have extremely active sex lives, on a level comparable to gay men, but it's more of an "all the time with a small number of people" rather than "a few times with a large number of people"
