I can see the 1962 midterm elections turning out differently in a scenerio where Batista remains in power in Cuba. In RL, the Democrats had a net gain of 3 seats, but instead the Republicans would likely pick up a few seats. In Alabama, Oklahoma, Missouri and South Carolina, as James Martin, B. Hayden Crawford, R. Crosby Kemper and W.D. Workman would probably end up defeating Lister Hill, A.S. Mike Monroney, Edward Long and Olin Johnson, while in Indiana and Wisconsin, Homer Capehart and Alexander Wiley would have a better chance at getting re-elected. In the House of Representatives, the Republicans would have ended up with a net gain of maybe 8-10 seats, as opposed to a 4 seat gain in RL. Those changes would not really affect things all that much, as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would still likely pass and the Democrats would still gain seats in 1964, but down the road, those gains might be enough to give the Republicans a Senate majority during Richard Nixon's Presidency.
