All six candidates over 10% in the county election, and not far off in the district election either.  Labour win the district seat, but come last in the county seat (covering a larger area).  Unsurprisingly given those details, the winning shares were both very low (though I've seen occasional lower ones).

The Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands (met county), Bob Jones (Labour), died at the beginning of July.  There will be a by-election to replace him; the legislation creating the post specified a timetable, which means that it will be held on 21 August.  I wonder whether the turnout will make double figures.

I know, but I only bother putting in a description either if the seat changes hands or if it's a hold or gain which isn't obvious from the previous election's figures (i.e. in a multi-seat ward with split representation).

Interesting result in Redditch. Labour gained a seat from UKIP, with UKIP had won off the Tories in May.

I'm aware, but the Cornwall previews aren't on the England website. I'm not the one hosting the previews, so, don't shoot the messenger.

Non natives of the British Isles now have to guess how 'Leominster' is pronounced.
