Glorious Leader Kim has set an election date for March 9, the same date as the 2009 elections. Ironically these elections matter, to determine whether Kim has consolidated a younger and more loyal power base.

Same rules apply as last time:
  • One candidate per constituency on the ballot
  • You are invited to drop the ballot straight into the box, while bowing
  • You must use both hands to cast the vote under the portraits of the Great Leader and Dear Leader
  • Security officers will check for those who didn't vote
  • Your friendly neighborhood security officer is also present on site, of course

I'd like to be an MP in that parliament. Seems like a pretty easy gig.

I think the Chondoist Chongu Party could pull it off this year.  Their message has been thoroughly convincing.

He will be reelected by the same margin as Assad.

The risk of execution is pretty high, I take it.

Election day is tomorrow. The glorious Korean people are excited to express their supreme confidence in the reign stewardship of Generalissimo Kim Jong Un.

Kim himself is running in the Baekdusan constituency, perhaps to underscore his family lineage. Baekdusan is where the mythical founder of Korea Dangun descended from heaven. It's also where supposedly Kim Jong Il was born under a double rainbow while birds chirped in Korean and the winter spontaneously turned to spring.

In the last election turnout was 99.98%. We'll see what turnout is given this time.

The weather is supposed to be fairly good, so we might see some reactionary elements shirk their socialist duties and thus cause turnout to fall precipitously to 99.97%.

Wait, only 100%?? Every tinpot dictator in Africa can win 100% of the vote. A truly impressive victory would be one that is achieved with 110% or even 120% of the vote! At the very least, mathematics must obey the Great Leader Kim's will and not the other way around. Surely, some summary executions are advised in the current situation. Preferably of treacherous mathematicians.

Indeed. Though there is the option to reject the candidate on the ballot...

Is it by any chance that kind of "special booth"?

Nice trolling and counter-trolling by the US and North Korea.
