I admit I haven't seen him post much, so I don't know him very well. That said, this probably means that he has managed not to get involved into the forum drama/bickering, and instead stays focused on real life, two very good things.

His political views (those that are genuine and not a pompous act) aren't that bad. Also, he sometimes displays a pretty good sense of humour and self-derision. If only he stopped deliberately making an idiot of himself, I'm sure he'd be considered a fine poster.

He has a truly dazzling knowledge of political history of the US and of many other countries, in their most intricate and obscure details, and is able to display this knowledge with great simplicity and without ever being pompous. Also he's always kind and friendly unless he has a good reason not to be so. Easily one of the best posters.

Nathan is one of the most articulate, insightful and knowledgeable posters on this forum. He provides us with a fairly unique perspective, which, even when I disagree with it, is always extremely enriching. I admire his strong sense of morality and the depth of his philosophical reflections, and always learn a lot from his posts. I also have come to consider him as a personal friend, and I really hope that the reverse is also true.
