Of course. Registration should be automatic including ex-felons at the least.

(Off-topic but I don't remember having so many formatting options in the comment box before; float, shadow, glow? Is it just me or are these new? Fascinating.)

I suggest (based on early voting turnout numbers and weather-related turnout on election day) that would lead to lower turnout as people took advantage of the holiday to do other activities.

Get rid of poll places altogether the whole nation needs to adopt all vote by mail like Washington/Oregon your ballots get sent out 20 days before the election and you have until Tuesday to turn them in simple!

This is a great idea, many votes are lost in support of both sides of the aisle every election because they can't make it to vote. Only problem I could see coming up is that in alot of places across the country, churches are voting halls. Many churches hold masses on Saturday, that could be a slight problem.
