Well I want to make sure that this covers programs that may get government grants.

What if I replaced b with a sentence that said "This shall not be interpreted to restrict the purchase of goods and services and renting of facilities." ?

Seems fair to me.

I urge the senate to vote against. There are things in this bill that would be construed as a gateway for getting people who don't believe in the tenants of a religious organization into any level of leadership.

AYE

since I cannot think of any other use of such funds that would be appropriate that was not excepted by shua's amendment.

I meant to do this earlier, but I had to get off to deal with a houshold problem. Our water main froze.

This has enough votes to pass, Senators have 24 hours to object.

And what exactly would happen if a Senator objects? Wink

They should maintain their tax exemption otherwise you'd have preachers calling politicos out directly from the pulpet and I know the lefties don't want that happening. This bill is anti-religious freedom and I'm asking the senate to change their vote to nay.

I, personally, am fine with preachers calling out politicos from the pulpit, and honestly, find the expectation that religion is something that you do for an hour on sunday and then forget about for the rest of the week pretty silly. I have no problem with a church that focuses on political issues, because fundamentally political and religious are often just two sides of the same coin- but that doesn't mean the government should provide financial support for them.

Ashamed, but you shouldn't be remotely surprised.
