With Liberty's victory in the 1809 Election, Prime Minister William Findley has a massive majority and a huge advantage in terms of resources for the upcoming national referendum.

Though Rufus King and the Federalists are putting up a fight to retain the monarchy which they steadfastly support, they have lost considerable influence since 1804's defeat at the polls. With the Democrats completely obliterated, America is virtually a two-party system that is dominated by Liberty.

King George II has made public appeals as well, stating that to usurp the rights of House Washington would be insulting to the memory of George I, still regarded as something of a divine hero by the American people. George II also states (not without accuracy) that Findley's actions are vindictive in nature because of one Royal Veto.

Findley and the Liberty Party have been working like mad to push the Abolition vote, which would replace the King with an elected President who would have the same powers as the King (A figurehead with veto power, albeit an elected one). The Federalists, also anti-slavery for the most part (except for new southern Representatives, many former ex-Democrats), point out that Findley is simply adding another election without really changing anything.

A vote for Abolition is a vote for the President. A vote in favor of the Monarchy means you support the status quo. Have at it.

Closer than I anticipated right now. This one could be exciting.

Monarchy getting a majority is itstl. Given that I would've thought most Americans would support abolition.

Non-American conservatives, I'm sad to say, have irreparably harmed fictional America. Sad

Monarchy, as abolition essentially makes this timeline the same as any other American one (probably).

Non-American conservatives, I'm sad to say, have irreparably harmed fictional America. Sad

Love you long time.

Abolition! (Though I'm disappointed with what little change it does).

If this vote ended right now, abolition would win out because in cases of needing a tiebreaker, I remove my vote. I voted to keep the monarchy simply because having one was my idea in the first place.

Damn, twice as many people voting on the referendum than participated in the last election.

I hope that the Liberty Party won't abandon this issue if they lose the referendum.

We'll see. Still like 9 hours or so to go in the vote.

Abolition. It looks like I'm the deciding vote as of now. Tongue
