Cinyc and Cinncinatus, are either/both of you ok with the current bill? I need to know so I can amend it if necessary.

I'm on the fence about the bill and can vote either way.  It's more a question of me getting comfortable with privatization than doing anything to amend the bill as drafted.

I agree.  Several interesting points have been raised from both sides here.  However, I question the complexity of this process, and any wholesale privatization.  As for the competition argument, there really wouldn't be any.  Regional entities would have enormous control over the marketplace.  That being said, I'm not opposed to selling publicly owned assets that are so cost ineffective that they shouldn't be public, on a more specific basis.

Executive Decision: If this bill passes without the support of the Lieutenant Governor or Speaker, I will veto it.

EDIT: Could also be called 'Executive Indecision' haha

Considering this bill won't pass without the support of the Lieutenant Governor AND Speaker, that's not saying much.  Rep. Winfield and Rep. Earthling are opposed to it.

True.

Because I'm skeptical of privatization and if the Lt Gov and Speaker, who are to the right of me,  vote for it, then I'll sign it.

By a vote of 2-3, the bill fails.
