Democratic Party
Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield)(Inc.)

Republican Party
Fmr. Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth)

Counties: part of Lake, Cook

2012 Election:
Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield) 50.6%
Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth)(Inc.) 49.4%

Cook PVI: D+8

This district includes much of Chicago's North Shore as well as parts of Chicago's northwest suburbs.

Although this district is heavily Democratic in Presidential elections, local Republicans traditionally perform better than national Republicans here. President Barack Obama won the district 58-41% in 2012. The former Representative of the district, Robert Dold, is challenging incumbent Brad Schneider. Both candidates have good name recognition in the district.

This is considered a swing district on the local level.
