It's not the end of the world if Buck leads in the polls.

I'm calling fool's gold here. If this were 2010's climate and a weak incumbent like Bennet was running, I'd be incredibly worried, but Udall is literally a perfect fit (with his civil libertarian leanings) for the Democratic base and independents in this state. I wouldn't be surprised if polls show Gardner leading by a few points for a bit, but like Michigan, Dems will come home in the end if Udall runs a solid campaign.

Also, I'm excited for Democrats to trash the career of someone who I thought had in future in the GOP leadership.

Speaking of Musgrave, has she conceded yet?

I'm actually surprised she hasn't emerged as a statewide candidate yet. The GOP loves their far-right failures.
I think she is past her prime as a politician.

I don't see a difference wether the R's ran Buck or Gardner. Its a wash. I think Gardner might be too conservative to run statewide. Yeah sure he voted his district but his district is 14 points more R than the rest of the state.

This. There must be something awfully going wrong with the D brand in the US and Colorado if Gardner wins. This race will definitely be a precursor on whether the parties are popular after Bush and Obama.
