Gardner will start off with a money problem. Curious to see how quickly he can spool up. Needs a few million ASAP. AFP will probably start SEAD soon enough.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure AFP is going to swoop into Colorado soon.

Udall is bad for CO, voted 99% of the time with Obama.  His ass needs to go.

He's also anti-NSA and libertarian on several issues. Do you really think Gardner will be better on those issues?

He'll probably be no better, but on fiscal issues he is.

I hope his opponent makes that line the #1 defining focus of his campaign.

Well seeing as the majority of voters of the State supported Obama this can't be a such a bad thing for Colorado.

The problem is that the midterm electorate will likely be one that voted for Romney. Midterm dropoff and all.

That I know but the notion that Udall must go because he votes with Obama is ridiculous.

Republicans blew a winnable presidential election and several senate seats in 2012 because they foolishly thought "Obama's bad!" was enough to base a campaign on. I really hope they do it again in 2014.

The story of how Gardner was recruited. Started reconsidering a few weeks ago once Dem numbers tanked.

Even though he's still a cosponsor of fetal personhood bill.

This is the type of issue that will hurt him with those Denver suburban voters that have been recently going Dem that he'll need to cut into in order to win.

Udall has a web ad out on Gardner hitting him on personhood.

I remember concern trolls saying Udall isn't an adept politician, I see he's proving them wrong.

The lots for Ds in Colorado seems to have become modestly favorable.

I'm confident about this race. Seriously, republicans could be extremely competitive if they ran "social" moderate, fiscal conservative candidates. That doesn't seem the case for Gardner.

So... if the Republicans had put up Congressman Mike Coffman, you think that the GOP would have a better chance?
Not really. They would have a better chance if they had put up a social liberal fiscal conservative republican.

Coffman voted pretty hard line conservative back when he didn't have a swing seat. He even pandered to birthers.

I do agree that Colorado is becoming like Washington i.e. a place where SoCons can't win statewide.
