Why would Florida go for Mitty, but Ohio for Santorum?

Mitty would do much better than that, especially in the Northeast.

Running with your current expierience, I am not thinking you would do well against a Senator since 1995 and another since 1997.

Why would Florida go for Mitty, but Ohio for Santorum?

The idea is that voters are faced with two GOP tickets. Both are economically conservative, but Mitty is socially liberal while Santorum is conservative. That means that red states like Ohio and Iowa- more traditionalist and religious- would go for Santorum, while red states like Florida and Nevada (which are more libertarian) would go for Mitty.

Also, every blue state would go for Mitty based on his social views (he'd be a perfect match for Vermont).

I'd give Mitty over 70% in Massachusetts.

Mitty might win New Mexico and possibly Iowa. Santorum might have the declining home state advantage in Pennsylvania but he'd get grilled in the less fundamentalist states.
