Congressman Lankford just made the announcement today.  He's got my vote for sure.

EDIT:  The announcement will likely come tomorrow.

A ginger Bible camp counselor is exactly what the US Senate needs.

What he brings is conservative, Biblical principles and ideology.  Certainly something the Senate is short on.

He has been on Fox News and CNN quite often in the past couple of years.  I can see his high profile status based on the number of times the MSM interview him.

He is the Republican Policy Committee Chairman, which is quite a prestigious job; he's technically the fifth-highest ranking Republican in the House (behind Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy, McMorris Rodgers), though this is a position that is usually held only for two years and is devoid of real power (in the 111th Congress, it was held by Thad McCotter). But aside from that, he is a fairly prominent Boehner acolyte.

Although I'm generally not a fan of the SoCons and Christian Right types. However, what I've seen of Lankford so far seems promising.

He seems like a good guy, but his national security views are too bad for me to ever get behind him.

Yeah.  Until, you know, he switches his support to the Democratic candidate five seconds before casting his vote.

lol

Yes just what we need more right-wing extremists who want to impose their hypocritically misconstrued views of certain parts of the Bible while blatantly ignoring other parts on a country that was founded upon the principles of freedom of religion and separation of church and state. Yes, by all means, let's elect a theocrat who will turn the United States into another Iran, because that's exactly what Jesus preached: exploiting religion for political gain.

Bushie's betrayed an inflated perception of Oklahoma’s significance in everything (I don’t say this disparagingly; it’s more of an idiosyncrasy than anything), so that remark is pretty consistent. “This guy here is truly different from the rest!” He would be making this exact implication about anyone running for this seat.

Why doesn't Bushie (or Reginald, or Mechaman) run for the dem. nomination? I'm sure only perennial candidates will, and they'd certainly be able to beat them in the primary Tongue

Omigod please, PLEASE make this happen. Can we all chip in to pay Bushie's filing fee and set up a PAC in his honor?

I don't think Bushie deserves to be made into the Alvin Greene of Oklahoma.

I agree, Allison is the stronger candidate.

Bushie running would be performance gold. I'd sell my soul to see it happen.

James Lankford is certainly better than Jim Bridenstine, but that is not saying much. I would not vote for either of them though.

I'm pulling for Shannon in this one.

Big question is whether  Gov. Fallin endorses in the Senate race ?

Why?

I don't know much about Shannon. Why is he becoming the leading candidate over the past few weeks.

Out of all of those running I figure Lankford would be leading.
