Usually I don't focus on my "native" affairs, but my talking typeworm has told me to start this thread.

Coming soon.

What is the story behind this "county" at the eastern border which has "Left Democrats" as the strongest party from 2001 to 2011
Belarusian ethnic minority, as far as I know.

Hajnowski County is officially and effectively a bilingual county (Polish "Powiat" indeed translates as "County").

Btw, a wonderful place to visit.

I hope that Kalwejt will not be mad that I will use his topic for Polish maps.

Actually, I'm glad you've reminded me of this thread.

As you can see, I'm rather a poor mapmaker (I seriously need to improve).

2014 European parliamentary election

By seats won by each party

2004 European Parliamentary election

By a popular vote winner in each district (with %)

Orange: PO
Light blue: LPR
Yellow: Samoobrona
Blue: PiS

OK, here's the 2001 Sejm map. Not very complicated, given SLD-UP has carried all districts (and won nationwide with 41,04% v. nearest competitior with 12,68%)

Since SLD-UP swept all the Sejm districts in 2001, for balance here is a map of who came in second

Orange: PO
Yellow: Samoobrona
Green: PSL
Blue: PiS
Light gray: LPR
Gray: German Minority

Note: German Minority runs only in Opole district where it's, as a minority committee, exempted from a 5% nationwide threshold

2001 Samoobrona performance:

Third places in the 2011 Sejm elections (since making a second place map, given POPIS dominance, would be pointless)

Orange: Palikot
Green: PSL
Red: SLD

...Now, can someone tell me why the hell am I wasting my time?

Think SLD has the biggest downfall from power in 2005? No, that honor goes to AWS, which in four years went from winning an election to getting purged from the Sejm altogether (as AWSP).

AWSP performance in 2001:

My pleasure Smiley

AWSP performance in 2001:

AWS, good that they are dead : )

Best part is, of course, they had barely surpassed 5%, but ran as a coalition, for which threshold is 8%

2005: SLD's decline begins

2007 LiD's performance

LiD (Left and Democrats) was a relatively shortlived coalition of SLD, UP, SdPl (defectors from SLD) and PD (formerly UW)

Zagłębie remained SLD's strongest area, although IIRC their support there actually fell under 20% in 2011

Oh, and also: great maps.
What software do you used to draw them?

Thanks.

I'll probably get crucified by our fellow mapmakers for unprofessionalism, but I've simply uploaded a template of districts and I'm changing shades on MS PAINT.

Easily the most regionally- and class-based party.

LPR in 2005

Senate elections, 2011

OK, this took me a while, as since 2011 we've got 100 constituencies.

Orange is PO, Blue is PiS, independens are grey, PSL green and that yellow one is Dutkiewicz's committee.

(I f**king hate JOW-s)
