Patrick escapes from prison and decides to invade Canada by manipulating Stephen Harper. Now, Patrick is Canada PM. Queen Elizabeth II is more or less angry with Patrick attitude and decisions and threatens him with not visiting Canada if he doesn't step down as PM. Patrick, as wise as he is, realizes Queen Elizabeth is too old to travel to Canada anyway, so he decides to continue as Prime Minister.

One day after the incident with the Queen, he realizes that not only she's too old to travel, but too old to govern. With his manipulating skills, he convinces Prince Charles to start a succession war against his mother with the support of Canada. Dictator Julian Castro is supporting Queen Eizabeth but Patrick wins because he is so sage and then convinces two members of the House of Lords to kill King Charles and the entire royal family.

Patrick is now the King after manipulating every member of the Commons and the Lords with the help of Nick Clegg. King Patrick I is now a British nationalist and hates France, After trying to manipulate François Hollande with the help of Jean-Louis Borloo he realizes it's better to destroy the country because "France is full of communists".

Former Houston Mayor Annise Parker (D)-2%

Governor:
Former U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro (D)-1%

*Problems with voting machines in Harris County and Dallas County solved. Patrick forced people there and everywhere to vote for him. Only a bunch of communist Mexicans voted for Castro, and most of them by error.

Lieutenant Governor-Open
Former State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth)-5%
Comptroller Glenn Hegar (R)-95%

State Attorney General
State AG Ken Paxton (R-inc.,)-99%
Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia (D)-1%

In this race Texans voted for the democrat because Patrick told them to vote for "Christ" and they thought they had to vote for "Chris" and not "Christi".

Texas Supreme Court ruling by a vote of 7-1 (one of the justices abstained from voting) in favor of Governor Patrick, who was officially declared the winner of the governor's race by a margin of 229 votes:

2018 Election-Texas Governor
Patrick (R-incumbent): 2,936,814: 48.50%
Castro (D): 2,886,785: 48.48%

7:00 P.M.-Castro delivers his concession speech outside the Alamo in downtown San Antonio and thanks all of his supporters and family as well as friends, who've supported his gubernatorial campaign and during the recount battle.

9:30 P.M.-Inside the Texas House of Representatives chamber, Patrick joyfully declares victory to a raucous crowd of Tea Party supporters and Tea Party politicos. In his victory speech, he declares "I will not stop until Texas is cleansed of illegal aliens."

In the hotly-contested campaign for the Louisiana Governor's Mansion in 1995 to succeed outgoing 4-term Governor Edwin Edwards (D), we've got a wild runoff between former Governor Buddy Roemer (R) and State Senator Mike Foster (R-Franklin), as both Republicans have locked up the Top 2 spots for the November runoff, while the Democratic candidates such as State Treasurer Mary Landrieu (D) fell short in 3rd place and U.S. Rep. Cleo Fields (D-LA) was placed in DEAD LAST.

If anyone has a  statewide map on how the October Jungle Primary of 1995 would look like with Foster and Roemer going to the November runoff, just put it on this TL.

There were many other candidates, why did you place Fields in last? because he's black?

Fields was in last place because he was too LIBERAL: pro-choice and anti-gun and also pro-affirmative action: that's a NO-NO.

The other candidates who placed behind Foster (1st place), Roemer (2nd), Landrieu (3rd) included:

4th place: Lieutenant Governor Melinda Schwegmann (D)
5th place: Phil Preis (D)
6th place: State Rep. Robert Adley (D-Benton)
7th place: Gene H. Alexander (D)
8th place: Kenneth Woods (Independent)
9th place: Belinda Alexandrenko (D)
10th place: Lonnie L. Creech (Independent)
11th place: Darryl Paul Ward (Independent)
12th place: Arthur D. "Jim" Nichols (Independent)
13th place: Anne Thompson (Independent)
14th place: Ronnie Glynn Johnson (Independent)
15th place: Cary Kimbell (R)
16th place: U.S. Rep. Cleo Fields (D-LA)

In what was considered one of the biggest upsets on election night, Mitt Romney (R) has defeated longtime incumbent United States Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) in a hotly contested Senate race, which was nationalized by the backlash over Hillarycare, Bill Clinton's administration, and the Contract with America.

Romney won with 52% of the statewide vote to Kennedy's 46%.

In 2000, Romney easily wins reelection to a second term in the Senate, garnering 60% of the vote against former MA Governor Mike Dukakis (D). Two years later, Romney is elected the Commonwealth's 70th Governor defeating MA State Treasurer Shannon O'Brien (D).

Inauguration Day-Tuesday, January 15, 2019: Texas State Capitol Grounds in Austin, Texas

First, Wendy Davis (D) was sworn-in as Texas' 44th Lieutenant Governor and in her inaugural address, she stressed bipartisanship and called for the Legislature to avoid making drastic budget cuts on areas such as education funding, health care, school-lunch programs, etc., she also took a not too subtle shot at Governor Patrick: stating "We need leaders, who don't use racial hatred, fear mongering and intimidation to scare Texans. What we really need is leaders who can bring Texans of all ethnicities, nationalities and all backgrounds together in the 21st Century."

Later, Governor Patrick (R) was sworn-in for his 1st full 4-year term followed by a 19-cannon salute and flyover from the Texas Air National Guard's 149th Fighter Wing of San Antonio.

In Patrick's 2nd inaugural address (1st inaugural address was in 2016 following Abbott's death): "My fellow Texans, we've proved to the mainstream media that Texas is a staunch conservative state and will continue to be forever as long as I'm in the governor's mansion.

Over the last two and a half years, we've done a lot such as sending Border Patrol officers and the Texas National Guard to secure the Texas-Mexico border, aggressively sending drones to stop illegal crossings by any means necessary (which gave the Tea Party Patriots a big cheer). I stood up to the likes of former President Barack Hussein Obama and current President John Ellis Bush, both of whom want AMNESTY and told both of them to take a hike: we don't need your kind over here stirring up trouble."

While Patrick was speaking, former Governor Rick Perry and his wife, Anita were both seen putting their hands on their faces, shaking in fear, former Governor Mark White rolling his eyes saying to himself, "How in the hell did Texans elect this jackass to two statewide offices ?"

The 2019 legislative session starts off with a bang: Speaker Straus and Lieutenant Governor Davis both team up to block Patrick's Property Tax Cut initiative from passage due to enticing defections by fellow Republicans in the State Senate.

Patrick then bans Davis and Straus from doing the annual breakfast in the Governor's Mansion. In March 2019, the House and Senate easily pass the Texas Agricultural Freedom to Farm legislation (HB 12), but Patrick vetoes it with his veto stamp.

Election night 1980: Despite Republicans winning the White House and United States Senate very easily, it appears the Democrats picked up a surprising Senate seat in one of the Reddest of states: Arizona.

U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) has lost reelection to Democratic nominee Bill Schultz (D): 49% to 48% by less than 50,000 votes with 99% of the precincts reporting. Goldwater is shocked at the surprising loss and conceded the election at 10:00pm (Mountain Standard Time).

How would this impact Arizona statewide politics?

July 11, 2019: the day that changes Texas politics forever.

One afternoon inside the Governor's office at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Patrick is having a conversation with his Chief of Staff, Allen Blakemore.

Blakemore: Governor, Speaker Straus and Governor Davis are here to speak with you. They said it had something to do with you vetoing Head Start programs.

Patrick: Let them in.

(Door opens as Blakemore leaves) Davis: We need to have that meeting about your stupidity in gutting very good pieces of legislation regarding Head Start Texas.

Patrick: Don't get your skirt caught up in a patch little girl. This is politics! (laughs).

Straus: Under your disastrous governorship, we've lost the Super Bowl because the NFL took it away from the city of Houston and gave it to someone else. Then, we've lost over 29 companies such as Bank of America to places like Louisiana and Alabama. Then....

Patrick: Look you two weaklings: I am in charge of this state government here, not you people ! Either you're with me or against me.

(Davis pulls out her shotgun) Davis: I'm threw being your bitch Dan. You need to go.

Patrick: You're CHICKEN. You're not going to shoot me. I'm the Governor of Texas!

Straus locks the door behind him and turns up the radio loud to avoid witnesses hearing what's going on.

Davis: Texas needs new leadership and you need to go NOW ! (Cocks the shotgun).

Patrick (now sweating with perspiration): Wendy, what the hell are you doing ? Wait, wait wait (his last words).

First shot: BOOM, misses Patrick and hits the window.
Second shot: BOOM, Patrick hit in the chest, stumbling to his chair.
Third shot: BOOM: hits Patrick right in the upper left chest.
Fourth shot: BOOM misses Patrick in the head and hits his Press Secretary, Jacqui Baly in the shoulder.
Fifth shot: misses Patrick again, causing a fragment hitting Blakemore in the face.
Sixth shot: Davis aims at the front of Patrick's head and fires, blowing completely the right side of Patrick's face.

Straus: What about State Senator Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston) ? He's a Patrick supporter.

Davis: Take care of him too.

Foster would have won, and won easily.

People forget how unpopular Roemer was.  No one liked him.  The Democrats, and particularly the Edwards faction, hated him, but the business conservative Democrats never warmed to him, either.  Roemer switched to the GOP in 1991, but he wasn't welcomed with open arms; not by a longshot.  The Louisiana GOP, smaller then it is now in 1991, did not relish a Republican Governor whose commitment to the party was purely expedient.

Had Roemer remained a Democrat, he probably would have been re-elected.  Not definitely, but Edwin Edwards had his problems, and he had the advantage of incumbency.  Had he remained a Democrat, he could have nominally endorsed Clinton in 1992 and have been the guy to follow J. Bennett Johnston to the Senate.  Instead, he bailed.  Too soon.  When one looks at the numbers, the luck of conservative Democrats who switch to the GOP getting re-elected as Republicans is diminishing.

Little, if any.  Schultz, a wealthy auto dealer, would have had the good luck of running in a string of good Democratic years.  Of course, Schultz ran as an Independent for AZ Governor in 1986, making Evan Mecham's election possible.

I am thinking that Bill Schultz will manage to stay in the Senate until 2010, when he would have likely been defeated by Jeff Flake or J.D. Hayworth due to the huge Republican wave that year. With regards to John McCain, I can see him defeating Dennis DeConcini in 1988 and going on to remain in office until 2018.

Also, Ronald Reagan might have appointed Barry Goldwater as Secretary of Defense if he lost re-election to the Senate in 1980.

July 12th:

BREAKING NEWS: Governor Patrick announces he is indeed alive and that the assassination attempt by Wendy Davis only injured him. This comes as Wendy Davis reveals she has lived in Idaho City, Florida for the last two years and was not even close to being in Texas when the event transpired. Despite this, she is charged with attempted murder. Governor Patrick hired professional Wendy Davis impersonators from Vegas to commit the crime.

Meanwhile, the State of Texas is abolished forever, and New York Express is sent by President OBUMMER (who has retaken the White House in a violent socialist coup that morning) to serve as Governor.

Meanwhile, socialist occupy militants take over several border crossing points and allow a flood of ten million illegals into the country. In what will be the start of the Great [RACIAL INSULT DELETED BY INKS..TSK TSK TSK SANCHEZ, TSK TSK TSK] War, they quickly capture El Paso, and Dan Patrick moves to Waco to be near the frontline, appointing Janet Reno as commander of the Texas Gestapo to lead LA RESISTANCE!

With New York Express and the American Red Army closing in from 'Nawlins and the Mexicans from the South, Texas is in for one hell of a ride.

To be continued.....

Goldwater as Defense Secretary sounds good in this TL.

President-Elect Ronald Reagan announces that he's tapping Goldwater as his Defense Secretary (due to Goldwater's long military experience in the USAF Reserve and foreign policy credentials in the Senate, etc.,)

Here in Texas, Perry saw an opportunity to win statewide office as a GOPer and switched from the Democrats to the Republicans back in September 1989 and we all know how that went.
